SYMPTOM INSPECT ACTION
Check transmit power setting. Raise transmit power to FULL.
Check Gain Setting. Raise Gain settings (both channels).
Maximum setting is 15
Check TVG Setting. Set TVG (both channels) to 40logR
("Fish")
Transmit output from transceiver PCB. Measure transmit power (see Transducer
section).
One channel operates normally, but
second channel does not operate.
Transducer connections. Ensure connections are clean and tight,
and that pinouts are correct.
Ensure that correct transducers are being
used.
Check Gain Setting. Raise Gain Setting. Maximum setting is
15.
Check TVG Setting. Set TVG to 40log ("Fish").
Unit comes on, but then shuts off. Check incoming power to EQ 55. Provide proper voltage.
Is fuse intact? Replace with proper fuse.
Are Power Supply components
overheating?
Isolate Power Supply from loads.
Replace Power Supply module if
necessary.
Unit comes on, operates normally, then
operates erratically.
Are Power Supply components
overheating?
Isolate Power Supply from loads.
Replace Power Supply if necessary.
Check incoming power to EQ 55. Ensure that incoming power is not
falling below limits.
Check connections on CPU and joystick. Repair connections.
Isolate Power Supply from loads.
Replace Power Supply or CPU if
necessary.
No response to joystick operation. Check connections between joystick and
CPU.
Repair connections as necessary.
Check contacts on joystick switches. Replace joystick contact(s).
Replace CPU PCB assembly.
Fan does not operate. Check connections to +12 Vdc on
monitor PCB.
Repair connections. Replace fan if
necessary.
Speed Sensor does not work. Is the Speed input is turned to ON in the
Configuration Menu?
Turn Speed input ON in the
Configuration Menu?
